Capacity Building in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for Waste Management: Training Program and Courses Delivered at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), Qatar
DEISO supported the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) in Qatar through a focused capacity building engagement delivered via an on-site Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) training program and professional courses.
The program was conducted over five business days, from June 19th to June 23rd, 2023, and was attended by 11 participants, including students, lecturers, and professors.
The training program and courses were specifically customized for waste management modeling in Life Cycle Assessment, providing participants with both methodological understanding and practical capability in applying LCA approaches within academic and applied research contexts.
Beyond theoretical learning, the engagement focused on building practical implementation capability, enabling participants to structure LCA models, analyze environmental impacts, and apply lifecycle thinking to waste management systems and sustainability challenges.
Through this capacity-building approach, DEISO supports academic and institutional partners in strengthening internal expertise and enhancing their ability to apply LCA methodologies in research, education, and real-world sustainability applications.
