DEISO GHG Kata is now available
DEISO GEI Kata: GEI emission-factor estimation software for processes the databases do not cover.
DEISO GEI Kata is desktop software, developed in-house by DEISO LLC, that estimates a greenhouse gas emission factor from the process itself: its chemistry, fuels, heat and electricity. It is built for the moment a suitable database factor does not exist, and every result comes with its calculation steps and its uncertainty.
- Estimación basada en primeros principios
- Pasos de cálculo visibles
- Incertidumbre cuantificada
- Directo openLCA write
The 14-day trial runs the demo cases included in the app.

From process inputs to the emission factor, its uncertainty and the Monte Carlo result, in two minutes.
What problem does DEISO GHG Kata solve?
Carbon modelling often reaches the same barrier: the process is real, but no suitable emission factor exists in any LCI or GEI database, or the closest one is too generic or describes a different process. DEISO GHG Kata works from the process itself, for any industrial process you can describe by what it consumes and what it produces.
How it works, in three steps
- Describir el procesoSet the product, the functional unit and the emission sources that apply.
- Ejecutar la estimaciónThe engine calculates from chemistry, fuels, heat, electricity and materials.
- Revisar el resultadoRead the emission factor in kg CO₂e with its uncertainty, source contributions and calculation path.
Casos de uso habituales
- Specialty chemicals — the exact chemical or production route is missing from conventional datasets.
- Local materials — available databases describe another geography or technology.
- New technology — chemical processes in development, new plant processes and laboratory-scale processes, before any published factor exists.
- Reaction emissions — lime, cement, glass and ceramics, with process and energy emissions in one model.
- Unusual fuels — plant fuel gas and residues, from measured carbon content and heating value.
- Portfolios — product ranges, fuel alternatives and process scenarios run together.
Every estimate shows its calculation steps and uncertainty, so the result can be reviewed rather than taken on trust.
Questions about DEISO GHG Kata
¿Qué es DEISO GEI Kata?
DEISO GEI Kata is desktop software developed in-house by DEISO LLC that estimates greenhouse gas emission factors from first principles. It calculates the emissions of an industrial process from its chemistry, fuels, heat, electricity and materials, and reports the result with its calculation steps and uncertainty. It was released on 16 October 2026.
When should I use it instead of a database emission factor?
Utilizan DEISO GEI Kata when no suitable emission factor exists in LCI or GHG databases, or when the nearest available factor is too generic or describes a different process. Typical cases are specialty chemicals, local materials, processes still in development or at laboratory scale, reaction emissions in lime, cement, glass and ceramics, and unusual plant fuels.
¿Qué hace DEISO GEI Kata calculate?
It calculates the greenhouse gas emissions of a process as kg CO₂e per kg of product, or per the functional unit you define. Each result shows the contribution of every emission source, the full calculation path, the standard deviation and a 95% interval, so the factor can be reviewed and compared with plant measurements or database values.
Which methods does it follow?
Calculations use physical constants, fuel compositions, reaction chemistry and process inputs, together with IPCC calculation methods, IPCC AR6 GWP values, the GEI Protocol Product Standard and ISO 14067 where applicable. A dedicated Method Guide documents the equations, constants, assumptions, worked examples and method validation behind the engine.
Does DEISO GEI Kata work with openLCA?
Sí. DEISO GHG Kata can write a generated process directly into the open openLCA database, with the product as the output and the calculated greenhouse gases as emissions to air, without a manual file import. Results can also be exported to PDF, Excel and CSV for use in other LCA, carbon-accounting or spreadsheet tools.
Where is my process data stored?
Which licences are available?
Four licences are available, and every licence includes every feature: Pro for one computer, Team for up to five, Enterprise for six to twenty-five computers, and Enterprise Site for twenty-six or more. Each licence runs for one year from first activation. The plan comparison is on the DEISO GEI Kata page.
What can I do with the 14-day trial?
The trial lets you evaluate the complete workflow for 14 days using the demo cases included in the application, which cover a range of industries. You can run estimations, uncertainty analysis, sensitivity analysis and Monte Carlo simulation on those cases. Creating and running your own processes requires a paid licence.
